What is the difference between a standard newborn session and my signature, bespoke sessions? This is a common question with clients - below I have two sets of images, one from a signature foliage session, one from a standard session. Signature sessionsMy signature sessions offer something a bit different to a typical newborn session. During these sessions we create something bespoke to your child. Whether that is including sentimental items, flowers that you had at your wedding, or flowers that have a significant meaning for you. I will create a set of images that will make you smile for years to come and will look amazing on your walls. You can rest assured that my signature work is of award winning standard, meaning you know you will be receiving stunning images. All the set ups I create use fresh flowers and foliage. This gives us a greater choice of colour, texture and flower type, it also means we work more seasonally - reflecting the time of year your baby was born. Every year when those flowers bloom, when you see them whilst walking to nursery, to school, on a family day out you will remember just how much they have grown from that photograph to then <3 Other examples of bespoke set ups: Standard SessionsA standard session is full of the 'classic' newborn poses, this can be done on coloured backdrops and materials, but do not include my signature floral or foliage set ups, as you can see below. The session will capture the beauty of your newborn in the early days, giving you timeless memories, cute poses and beautiful images to display in your home. They truly change so quickly in the early days, ![]() An example of a standard newborn session. Both sessions do include family photos and/or sibling photos. Both sessions are full of photos you will love for years to come, and all are taken in my Sidcup Studio. If you love the classic, simple shots, then standard is probably right up your street. But, if you'd love to have something bespoke, something special for your baby, then the signature session is for you - we can create something meaningful, and show stopping - something just as unique as your baby. If you would like to discuss you newborn session, any ideas you have or you aren't sure which option is best for you, just drop me a message, or give me a call!
![]() I didn't get into newborn photography for awards—I simply love capturing those tiny, fleeting moments that pass by so quickly. But this year has started with some incredible news… I’ve been awarded Newborn Photographer of the Year and Photographer of the Year! It’s such an honour to receive these titles from The Guild of Photographers and to win a Newborn Photographer of the Year title for the third year in a row is something I never expected. Entering competitions, for me, has always been about pushing myself to create something special for every one of my clients. I want to be able to capture something unique for each and every baby that comes through the studio door. The Guild of Photographers run a year long competition, where you must enter consistently to be in with a shot of placing in the top ten. This year, not only was I the highest scoring newborn photographer, but I got the most points in any one category! When my name was called for Photographer of the Year I couldn't believe it, it truly was such a huge moment for me. Why This Means So Much Newborn photography is all about preserving those early days—when your baby is still tiny, sleepy, and changing so quickly. Every session is a chance to create something special for families to treasure forever. While winning these awards is an amazing recognition, what truly matters is the trust parents place in me to capture these once-in-a-lifetime moments. Knowing that the work I am creating for parents is of such a high standard is something I am so proud to offer all my clients. Whilst competition has always been a way to assessing myself and my work, now it is time for something a little different - I was asked to start my judge training, and whilst it doesn't mean I will become a panel judge for The Guild, it will mean that I have the chance to mentor, to give back to the community that has helped push my work to where it is now - and gives me the option to become a panel judge if that opportunity arrises, of course! Thank You for Your Support! To all the families who have trusted me with their precious memories—thank you. Your support means everything, and I wouldn’t be here without you. Thinking About Booking a Newborn Session?
If you’re expecting a baby and considering a newborn photography session, I’d love to help. My sessions are relaxed, baby-led, and designed to capture all the little details that make your baby unique. The best time for newborn photos is within the first two weeks after birth, so I always recommend booking while you’re still pregnant to secure a spot. I only take on a limited number of sessions each month to ensure each family gets the best experience possible. If you’d like to find out more about booking a newborn session, feel free to get in touch—I’d love to hear from you! 📸 View my newborn photography info page: Here 📅 Book your session: Here |
