When is the best time to book a newborn photoshoot?

The best time to book a newborn photoshoot is during your pregnancy, ideally in your second or third trimester. I book by due date, and once baby is born we will schedule the session within the first 5–14 days after birth for those adorable sleepy poses.

How long does a newborn photoshoot take?

A newborn photoshoot typically lasts between 2 to 3 hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding, changing, and soothing your baby to ensure a comfortable and relaxed session. I block out around 4 hours.

Where does the newborn photoshoot take place?

Newborn sessions take place at my studio in Sidcup, Kent. I have a cosy studio at my home address, filled with all the props and materials needed. The studio will be heated to ensure baby is comfortable, and if you've booked a bespoke session, floral arrangements will be prepped in advance.

What should my baby wear for the photoshoot?

I provide a range of adorable wraps, props, and outfits to choose from, so bringing baby in a simple baby grow is ideal as I can take this off quickly, without disturbing your little one.

Can family members be included in the photoshoot?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Parents and siblings are welcome to join for a few family portraits. I recommend neutral outfits without patterns or words for a timeless and cohesive look.

How should I prepare my baby for the session?

Accepted Answer

Try to feed your baby right before the session to keep them sleepy and settled. Dress them in a loose-fitting onesie so we can dive right into the session. Bring extra nappies, milk, and a dummy if used. My sessions are baby-led, so feeding can happen at any time.

How long does it take to receive the final photos?

Final edited images are ready 2–3 weeks after your session. You’ll return to the studio to view your gallery and select images. Once payment is received, your digitals will be sent. Prints and wall art take 2–3 weeks after ordering.

Do you provide props and outfits?

Yes! I have a collection of soft wraps, knitted outfits, headbands, and baskets to create a beautiful setup for your session.

What safety measures do you take during the session?

Accepted Answer

I prioritise newborn safety by using gentle posing techniques, keeping the studio warm and sanitised, and always ensuring baby's comfort. If baby resists a pose, we move on. I stay close to baby or ask a parent to help when needed.

Session prices start from £65. The final cost depends on the image package you choose. On average, clients spend £800.

What is the difference between a standard and a bespoke session?

Accepted Answer

Standard sessions include sleepy poses, around 3 images in props, and family portraits. Bespoke sessions include all of the above, plus floral and foliage setups in my signature style, adding 3–5 extra images to your gallery.
